Construction Project Management Technical Details

In the Aldeia das Descobertas area of the Praia d’el Rey Golf and Beach Resort in Obidos.


A luxury unit with basement, this villa had a unique situation, in that during the construction phase there was the presence of a lot of water. The solution found for this was the construction of a drainage well in concrete, which was then used for the definitive drainage system where two pumps were installed, thus making use of this surplus water. These pumps are not unusual in a villa with basement. What was unusual with this situation was that these pumps were installed at the beginning of the construction due to the surplus water preventing our works from advancing. We managed to install the pumps then, use them throughout the construction, and keep them permanently, thus avoiding any extra costs for our clients in having to install a temporary pump only to have a permanent pump installed at the end of construction. As with many of our clients, due to the fact that the owner lived overseas and wasn’t present physically for most of the works, the development of construction was all accompanied via internet.
